Edit Read-Only Documents


In this topic, you will learn how to edit read-only documents.


Steps:

  1. If a document has been made Read-Only, when you open it a message appears indicating that restriction are in effect in the document.

     

    To remove the protection, click the Edit Anyway button.

  2. Changes can now be made to the original document.   To save changes, create a new copy of the document by saving it with a new name.

  3. Another way to remove document protection:

     

    Click File Tab

  4. Click the Open menu.

  5. Click the protected File you wish to open.

  6. Click the arrow to the right of the Open button.

  7. Click the Open as Copy menu.

    Click Open

  8. Click the Edit Anyway button.
