Insert a Simple Chart


In this topic you will learn how to create a simple chart.

 

In order to create a chart, you must first highlight the data you want to plot.   We will look at three different ways to highlight data:


Steps:

    Highlight consecutive rows or columns:

    Highlight the first row in the range.

     

    Hold down the [Shift] key and use your arrow keys to go up, down, or across.

     

    In this example, we'll use the down arrow and then the right arrow.

    Highlight the Entire Range:

    Click and drag to highlight the data.

    Highlight the first row or column in your range. In this example, select Columns A, C, and E.

  17. With your data highlighted, create a Pie chart.

    In the Charts group, select the down arrow under the chart heading and select a chart type.

  20. Select the Pie of Pie chart (top row, third chart).
