Track Changes - On and Off


In this topic, you will learn how to turn Track Changes On or Off.


Steps:

  1. Click the Review tab.

  2. Click Track Changes.

  3. Click the Track Changes menu.

     

    Track Changes is now ON.

  4. When the Track Changes feature is on, you can view all of the changes that you make to a document. 

     

    When you turn off the Track Changes feature, you can make changes to a document without marking what has changed.

  5. In this example, the landmark Holiday Inn has been changed to a Day's Inn.

     

    Highlight the word Holiday and type Day's

  6. To change tracking options, click Track Changes.

  7. Click Change Tracking Options

  8. In our example, options were set to underline the insertion.  Let's change that option.

     

    Click the arrow.

  9. Select (none)

  10. Click the OK button.

  11. Turn Off Change Tracking:

     

    Click Track Changes

  13. Track Changes is turned off.

  14. To Remove Tracked Changes:

     

    Use the Accept and Reject commands on the Review Tab in the Changes Group.

  15. In this example, we will accept the change. Click Accept.

  17. The tracked change has been removed.
