Creating a Table


In this topic, you will create a table in Excel.

 


Steps:

  1. Creating a Table:

     

    When creating a table, keep the following in mind:

     

    Create the table on one spreadsheet

    Create column headers at the top of each column

     

    In this example, the column headers are:  Last Name

  8. Range:   Two or more cells on a sheet.  

     

    The cells in a range can be adjacent or nonadjacent.

  9. Table:   A series of rows and columns that contains related data that is managed independently from the data in other rows and columns on a worksheet.

  10. Creating a Table from Predefined Data:

     

    Select the contents of your range.

     

    Click the left mouse button and drag the mouse to select the desired text.

    Select the range of cells to be included in the table

    Click the left mouse button and drag the mouse to the desired location.
