You can set up U.S. Standard Industry Classification (SIC) and Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes in your system. Use these codes to identify and track data about an individual's work experience, including the name of the individual's former employer, employment begin and end dates, and the last rate of pay.

 

Your system is shipped with SIC and SOC codes. However, your institution is responsible for making sure both sets of codes are current and reflect any changes made by the U.S. Department of Labor.

 

If you implemented PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS, the SIC and SOC codes required by your institution might already exist in your system.
