Opening a Cashiering Office


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Open Cashier Offices page.

     

    Click the Student Financials link.

  3. Click the Open Offices link.

  4. Be sure that the correct Business Unit is entered here.

  5. Click in the Cashier's Office field.

  6. Enter the desired information into the Cashier's Office field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "WALNUTCR"
    .

  7. Click the Search button.

  8. Use the Open Cashier Offices page to start a new day for your cashier offices.

  9. Select the business date for which you want to open the cashiering office. The system populates the field with the current date, but you can change it.

     

    In this example, accept the default date.

  10. Click the Open Cashier Office button to open the cashiering office.

     

    When you click the button, the Current Business Date field becomes unavailable.

     

    Click the Open Cashier Office button.

  11. Click the Copy Registers and Cashiers button to copy information regarding the cashiers and registers from one business date to another.

     

    This button saves you time and effort involved in manually selecting and opening the registers and cashiers on the Open Registers and Open Cashiers pages.

     

    Click the Copy Registers and Cashiers button.

  12. Be sure the date in the Business Date field is the day from which you want to copy the cashier and register information.

     

    You can change the Business Date field, but it is not necessary for this example.

     

    Click the OK button.

  13. Next, you need to review the registers to open.

     

    Click the Open Registers tab.

  14. Use the Open Registers page to specify which registers you want to open and which type of tender those registers can accept.

     

    You can specify different types of tender for different registers.

     

    This example shows how to copy your registers from a previous business day.  So you do not need to enter any data on this page.

  15. Select the Register that you want to open for the business day.

     

    If you clicked the Copy Registers and Cashiers button on the Open Cashier Offices page, the system automatically selects and opens registers from the copied business day.

  16. Enter a Tender Key to indicate the type of tender that you want the register to be able to use in its transactions.

     

    If you clicked the Copy Registers and Cashiers button on the Open Cashier Offices page, the system automatically inserts the tender keys for each copied register.

  17. Finally, review the cashiers to open.

     

    Click the Open Cashiers tab.

  18. Use the Open Cashiers page to select what registers to open for each cashier.

  19. Select the ID of the cashier that you want to open.

     

    If you clicked the Copy Registers and Cashiers button on the Open Cashier Offices page, the system automatically selects cashiers from the copied business day.

  20. Select the register that you want this cashier to use.

     

    Only registers that you open on the Open Registers page are available to select.

  21. Select the Open check box to open this cashier for the business day. Once you select the check box, it becomes unavailable.

     

    Even if you clicked the Copy Registers and Cashiers button on the Open Cashier Offices page, you must select this check box to open the cashier.

     

    Click the Open option.

  22. You can enter a Tender Key to indicate the type of tender that you want the cashier to be able to use in their transactions.

     

    Only the tender keys that are assigned to the selected open register are available to select.

  23. Once you have all the data entered correctly, save the page.

     

    Click the Save button.

You have successfully opened cashiering for a business day.
