Generating Income Tax and Donation Receipts

Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Generate Tax Receipts page.

     

    Click the Student Financials link.

  3. Click the Generate Tax Receipts link.

  4. You can run this process by searching for an existing Run Control ID or you can add a new value. Creating a Run Control ID that is relevant to the process may help you remember it for future use.

     

    Click the Add a New Value tab.

  5. A Run Control ID is an identifier that, when paired with your User ID, uniquely identifies the process you are running. The Run Control ID defines parameters that are used when a process is run. This ensures that when a process runs in the background, the system does not prompt you for additional values.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Run Control ID field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "RECEIPT01"

  6. Click the Add button.

  7. Use the Generate Tax Receipts page to enter the request parameters. These parameters will be used to define the processing rules and data to be included when the process is run.

  8. Click in the Academic Career field.

  9. You want to run the process for undergraduate careers in the Fall 2007 term.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Academic Career field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "UGRD"

  13. At this point, you would continue to run the Generate Tax Receipt process just as you would any other PeopleSoft Enterprise Process Scheduler process.

     

    Refer to the Running Reports module for examples of running a process.

  14. The process retrieves the required data from Student Records and Student Financials to populate the PS_CAN_TAX_RECEPT table.

     

    You can then use the data in this table to create official income tax receipts for students.

  15. Next, navigate to the Generate Donation Receipts page.

     

    Click the Generate Donation Receipts link.

  16. Use the Generate Donation Receipts page to enter the request parameters. These parameters will be used to define the processing rules and data to be included when the process is run.

  17. Click in the Contact Type field.

  18. Use the Contact Type field to specify to whom the receipt will be sent.

     

    In this example, send it to the primary contact at the organization.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Contact Type field. Enter

     a valid value

     "PRI"

  23. In this example, generate donation receipts for 2007 year to date.

     

    Click in the From Date field.

  25. At this point, you would continue to run the Generate Donation Receipt process just as you would any other PeopleSoft Enterprise Process Scheduler process.

  26. The process retrieves the required data from Student Financials to populate the PS_CAN_DONAT_RECEPT table.  You can then use the data in this table to create official donation receipts for students and third-party organizations.
