You use the loan origination process (FAPLBOG1) to certify student loan eligibility. Eligibility is determined by checking student award information, promissory notes, the student's loan history, and the loan setup parameters used to originate a new loan. During the origination process, key elements such as CommonLine version, process level and serial loan code are determined to create a complete loan record that can be transmitted to the appropriate loan agency.
Both CommonLine versions, CRC and CL 4, use the same components and pages for tracking originating loans.
In this topic, you will originate a CommonLine loan for a student.
