Entering Item Update (By Item)


Concept


Steps:

  1. To begin the procedure, you need to specify the checklist item and indicate the individual for whom the Checklist Items Update - by Item process should update the item's status. 

     

    Begin by navigating to the Item Update - by Item page.

     

    Click the Campus Community link.

  3. Click the Item Update - by Item link.

  4. Click the Add a New Value tab.

  5. In this example, you are creating a list of individuals who have completed the essay checklist item.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Checklist Item Code field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "ESSAY"

  6. Click the Add button.

  7. Use the Item Update - by Item page to list all the individual IDs for whom you want to change the status of a specific checklist item to Complete when the update process runs in the background.

  8. In the ID field, specify the ID number of the individual who has completed the specified checklist item, which in this example is an essay.

     

    Enter the desired information into the ID field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "AA0001"

  10. You have specified the individual who has completed the essay checklist item. Now, update the status of the essay checklist item.

     

    Click the Process Checklists link.

  11. Click the Update Checklist Item- by Item link.

  12. You can run this process by searching for an existing Run Control ID or you can add a new value. Creating a Run Control ID that is relevant to the report may help you remember it for future use.

     

    Click the Add a New Value tab.

  13. A Run Control ID is an identifier that, when paired with your User ID, uniquely identifies the process you are running. The Run Control ID defines parameters that are used when a process is run. This ensures that when a process runs in the background, the system does not prompt you for additional values.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Run Control ID field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "UPDATE01"

  14. Click the Add button.

  15. Use the Update Checklist Item - by Item page to enter the request parameters. These parameters will be used to define the processing rules and data to be included when the process is run.

  16. By default, the All Items option is selected. It indicates that the process should update all checklist items specified on the Item Update - by Item table to a status of Complete.

     

    In this example, you need to update the status of the essay checklist item only.

     

    Click the One Item option.

  17. Click in the Checklist Item Code field.

  18. Enter the desired information into the Checklist Item Code field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "ESSAY"

  19. At this point, you would continue to run the Update Checklist Item process just as you would any other PeopleSoft Enterprise Process Scheduler process.
