Entering Service Indicator Data


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Add Service Indicator page.

     

    Click the Campus Community link.

  2. Click the Manage Service Indicators link.

  3. Enter the desired information into the EmplID field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "FA0001"

  5. Use the Manage Service Indicators page to view service indicators assigned to a person ID.

  6. In the Effect field, select the effect of the service indicators from the available values: All, Positive, and Negative. Select the Institution whose service indicators you want to display for the ID.

     

    If you make changes to these two fields you must click the Refresh link to display data according to the effect and institution that you enter.

  7. Begin by assigning a positive service indicator for this student.

     

    Click the Add Service Indicator link.

  8. Use the Add Service Indicator page to assign a new service indicator to the person ID.

  9. Click in the Service Indicator Code field.

  10. Enter the code for the service indicator to assign to the individual.  In this example, enter a service indicator for honors students.

  12. Enter the reason that you are assigning this service indicator to the individual. Only reason codes that are associated with the specific service indicator on the Service Indicator Codes page are available.

  13. The system displays the effect associated with the service indicator that you select, either Positive or Negative.

    Press [Tab].

  15. Notice that the system populated the Department field based on the value entered in the Service Ind Reason Code field.

     

    This field defines the department that is responsible for placing the service indicator (or that requested it be placed) on this individual's record.

  16. In the Effective Period group box, service impacts associated with a service indicator can be term-based or date-based. They are applied or released based on the start and end information that you enter.

     

    In this example, you want to apply the service indicator to specific terms.

     

    Click in the Start Term field.

    Click an entry in the Impact column.

  41. In the Reference field, enter a reference number or other data that may assist in tracking and identifying the service indicator and its resolution.

  42. In the Amount field, enter the monetary amount, if any, that is required to satisfy the reason for this service indicator.

     

    Click in the Amount field.

  51. Remember that you can limit the indicators displayed here by filtering for those with either positive or negative effects.

    When a service indicator is assigned to an individual, the corresponding negative or positive service indicator button appears on most pages about that individual. One button can represent one or several service indicators. Click the buttons on any of those pages to navigate to the appropriate details page on which you can determine how many and which restrictions apply.

     

    Note that future-dated service indicators prevent service indicator buttons from appearing until their specified effective dates.

You have successfully entered and reviewed positive and negative service indicators for an individual.
