Producing T2202A Tax Forms

Concept

Steps:

  1. Begin by accessing the T2202A Data page.

    Click the Student Financials link.

    Step 1
  2. Click the Taxes link.

    Step 2
  3. Click the Generate T2202A link.

    Step 3
  4. You can run this process by searching for an existing Run Control ID or you can add a new value. Creating a Run Control ID that is relevant to the process may help you remember it for future use.

Click the Add a New Value tab.

    Step 4
  5. A Run Control ID is an identifier that, when paired with your User ID, uniquely identifies the process you are running. The Run Control ID defines parameters that are used when a process is run. This ensures that when a process runs in the background, the system does not prompt you for additional values.

Enter the desired information into the Run Control ID field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "GENTAX01"
    .

    Step 5
  6. Click the Add button.

    Step 6
  7. Use the Generate T2202A page to enter the request parameters. These parameters will be used to define the processing rules and data to be included when the process is run.

    Step 7
  8. Click in the Institution field.

    Step 8
  9. Enter the desired information into the Institution field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "PSUNV"
    .

    Step 9
  10. Click in the Calendar Year field.

    Step 10
  11. Enter the desired information into the Calendar Year field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "2006"
    .

    Step 11
  12. Click in the Address Usage field.

    Step 12
  13. Enter the logic that the system uses to select the student address associated with each T2202A form.  In this case, you want to use the primary address usage logic, with a code of SLCT ORD 1.

Enter the desired information into the Address Usage field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "SLCT ORD 1"
    .

    Step 13
  14. Click the Report Only check box to create a report of the T2202A data retrieved without actually populating your Student Financials tables with T2202A data.

Note that because the process generates effective-dated rows of data, you cannot run the Generate T2202A Data process more than once per day.  However, if you select the Report Only check box before running the process, the system does not insert rows of data into your tables.

Therefore, you can run the process in report-only mode as many times as you want on a given day.

    Step 14
  15. Click in the Citizenship Status field.

    Step 15
  16. Enter the Citizenship Status for which you want to generate T2202A data. You want to generate data for Canadian natives and citizens.

Enter the desired information into the Citizenship Status field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "1"
    .

    Step 16
  17. Click the Add Row button.

    Step 17
  18. Enter the desired information into the Citizenship Status field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "7"
    .

    Step 18
  19. At this point, you would continue to run the Generate T2202A process just as you would any other PeopleSoft Enterprise Process Scheduler process.

Refer to the Running Reports module for examples of running a process.

    Step 19
  20. The Generate T2202A Data process reviews the Student Enrollment table for the reporting calendar year.  It summarizes all enrollment units taken by mouth, and tabulates them to determine the academic load (full- or part-time) for each month.

The process then writes the results to the T2202A Data records, along with the financial information regarding tuition amounts.
