Begin by navigating to the Department Summary page.

Use the Department Summary page to view a summary of the department data and access the Department Detail page where you enter department data.Step 6
The Department field displays the number of this department in the list of departments for this organization.
The system automatically assigns the next sequential number to each department that you add. You can manually override these numbers to rearrange the order of the departments.Step 7
As you can see, there are currently no departments on file in the system. Click the Department Details link to access the Department Detail page to add department information.

Use the Department Detail page to enter the department of the organization.Step 9

Use the Department Type field to specify the type (Academic or Administrative) that describes this department.
In this example, this department is an administrative department.

Use the Contact field to enter the main contact, from the Organization Contacts page, for this department.
Note that you cannot select a contact for this department until contacts are entered on the Contact Detail page.Step 16
Click the Add Contact button to access the Contact Detail page to add a new contact for this department.
When you have entered and saved the contact information, the contact appears on this page. However, you must enter the department data before entering a contact.Step 17
Next, enter location data for the department.
Click in the Location field.Step 18
In the Location field, enter the location number, from the Location Detail page, for this department's location.

Notice that the system displays the address associated with the location that you entered.Step 21
Click the Add Location button to access the Location Detail page to add a new location for this department.
When you have entered the location, the contact appears on the Location Detail page.Step 22
In the Electronic Addresses group box, you can enter or review electronic addresses for a department within an organization, including email and URL addresses.Step 23

Notice that the Preferred check box is now selected, indicating that this phone number is the preferred phone number to contact this department. You can modify this designation if more phone numbers are added in the future.Step 35
