Creating Record Hierarchy Joins



  1. Begin by navigating to the Query page.


    Click the Reporting Tools link.

  2. Click the Query Manager link.

  3. In this example, you will search for the PT_CHNLS_MSGS_AT_A_NODE query.


    Enter the desired information into the begins with field. Enter

     a valid value

  4. Click the Search button.

  5. Click an entry in the Edit column.

  6. Click the Query tab.

  7. Use the Query page to add fields to the query content.


    You can also add additional records by performing joins.

  8. Note that the base record in this example is Application Message Definition with the appropriate fields and criteria.

  9. Use the Hierarchy Join link to join parent-child records.


    Click the Hierarchy Join link.

  10. Use the Select record for hierarchy join page to join a parent table to a child table.

  11. All of the records that have a parent/child relationship with the selected record appear on this page.


    In this example, select the Message Definition Record record for the join.


    Click the Message Definition Record link.

  12. The join is reflected on the Query page:

    •   Record A is Application Message Definition.

    •   Record B is Message Definition Record.

  13. Select the Sequence Number field for the second record.


    Click the Sequence Number option.

    Click the Message Name option.

You have successfully created a record hierarchy join.
