Opening and Previewing Reports



  1. Begin by accessing Crystal Reports 9 application using the Start, Programs, Crystal Reports 9 path.


    Click the Start button.

  4. Use the Welcome to Crystal Reports dialog box to define whether you are creating a new report or opening an existing report.

  5. The Open an Existing Report option is selected by default.

  6. Clear the Show welcome dialog at startup check box to disable the Welcome to Crystal Reports dialog box when you launch Crystal Reports again.


    Click the Show welcome dialog at startup option.

  8. Use the Open dialog box to browse and select a report from the location where you store your reports.

  15. Use the Preview window to preview the results of reports.

  19. Use the Preview Sample dialog box to select how to view the report, either view all records or view the limited number of records.

  21. Use the Signon dialog box to sign in to and connect to the PeopleSoft database to retrieve the data.


    Note that the ODBC connection information dialog box appears when you preview the report data after opening the file; it does not appear if you just open a file.

    •  Database Name as T1B84901.

    •  User ID as PTTRN.
