Adding Prompts to an Expression List


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Expressions page.

     

    Click the Reporting Tools link.

  2. Click the Query Manager link.

  3. Enter the desired information into the begins with field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "pt_sec"
    .

  4. Click the Search button.

  5. Click an entry in the Edit column.

  6. Click the Expressions tab.

  7. Use the Expressions page to add or edit expressions.

  8. In this example, you will add a new expression.

     

    Click the Add Expression button.

  9. Use the Edit Expression Properties page to add or edit expressions for queries.

  10. In this example, you will add a new runtime prompt.

     

    Click the Add Prompt link.

  11. In this example, you want to use the From Date prompt.

     

    Click the From Date link.

  12. The selected prompt appears in the Expression Text field.

     

    If you selected the in list operator, you may want to add more than one prompt so that your users can enter more than one value to search for.

  13. Adding multiple prompts are the same steps that you use to add a single prompt.

     

    Click the Add Prompt link again and select a different prompt to add.

     

    Click the Add Prompt link.

  14. In this example, you want to use the Through Date prompt.

  16. In this example, you want to use the Client name / IP Address prompt.

You have successfully created prompts and added them to an expression list.
