Defining Report Nodes


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating Report Nodes search page.

     

    Click the PeopleTools link.

  2. Click the Process Scheduler link.

  3. Click the Report Nodes link.

  4. Select  Add a New Value to create a new report node.

     

    Click the Add a New Value tab.

  5. Enter the desired information into the Distribution Node Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "LOCAL"
    .

  6. Click the Add button.

  7. Use the Http Distribution Node page to enter report node information to transfer reports to the Report Repository using http transfer protocol.

  8. Many of the fields are shared between the Http Distribution Node page and the FTP/XCopy Distribution Node page. When you enter information on one page, the information also appears in the shared fields on the other page, but the fields are unavailable.

     

    If you complete the information for one protocol and then change your selection to another protocol, the shared fields become active on the other page and become unavailable on the original page. Upon saving, the system automatically clears fields that are not shared.

  9. The URL field is used for all report node types. Use the URL field to enter the URL of the web server using the format:

     

    http://<machine name>:<port number>/psreports/<PeopleSoft site name>

     

    For the purpose of this example, the text will be entered for you.

     

    Click in the URL field.

  10. In the URI Host field, enter the machine name. If you are using PeopleSoft Process Scheduler for UNIX or OS390, you must enter either the fully qualified name (for example, ADHP04.peoplesoft.com or the IP address.

     

    Click in the URI Host field.

  11. Enter the desired information into the URI Host field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "cdefeo-lap.peoplesoft.com"

  12. In the URI Port field, enter the port number. This must match the port number of the web server. The defaults are 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS.

     

    Click in the URI Port field.

  13. In this example, the port number for the web server is 8010.

     

    Enter the desired information into the URI Port field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "8010"

  14. In the URI Resource field, enter SchedulerTransfer/<PeopleSoft site name>.

     

    Click in the URI Resource field.

  15. In this example, the PeopleSoft site name is demo.

     

    Enter the desired information into the URI Resource field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "SchedulerTransfer/demo"

  16. Use the Save button to save the HTTP Distribution Node information.

     

    Click the Save button.

  17. If you decide to change your selection to another protocol, the shared fields become active on the other page and become unavailable on the original page.

     

    To configure the report node for XCopy, select Ftp/XCopy.

     

    Click the Ftp/XCopy option.

  18. Use the FTP/XCopy Distribution Node page to configure the report node using either FTP or XCopy.

  19. The URL field contains shared information.

  20. Leave Home Directory  field blank for XCopy mode.

     

    For FTP enter the directory that is specified during the installation of PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture as the Report Repository.

     

    Note. The FTP user ID must have write access to this directory.

  21. If you are configuring FTP, then you will enter the machine name or TCP/IP information for the Report Repository in the FTP Address Field.

     

    You will also need to enter the FTP ID and Password information.

  22. In the Network Path field, enter the universal naming convention (UNC) path that points to the Report Repository.

     

    Click in the Network Path field.

  23. Enter the desired information into the Network Path field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "c:\psreports"
    .

  24. Use the Save button to save the XCopy Distribution Node information.

     

    Click the Save button.
