Building a List of Values


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Criteria page.

     

    Click the Reporting Tools link.

  2. Click the Query Manager link.

  3. Enter the desired information into the begins with field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "pt_sec_plist"
    .

  4. Click the Search button.

  5. In this case, you will edit the PT_SEC_PLIST_CREF_MENU_CMP_MKT query.

     

    Click an entry in the Edit column.

  6. Click the Criteria tab.

  7. Use the Add Criteria button to access the Edit Criteria Properties page.

  8. In this example, you want to add a new criteria with a list of values.

     

    Click the Add Criteria button.

  9. Use the Edit Criteria Properties page to determine how this field is used as a criterion for the current query.

  10. Click the Choose Record and Field button.

  11. In this example, select the Usage Type field for expression 1.

     

    Click the Usage Type link.

  12. Click the Condition Type list.

  14. Click the List Members look up button.

  15. Use the Edit List page to build a list of values for PeopleSoft Query to compare to the value from the first expression.

     

    (After you have created such a list, you can also use this page to select from the list.)

  16. To add a value, enter it into the Value text box.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Value field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "NAME"
    .

  17. Click the Add Value button.

  18. The List Members section lists the values that have been selected using the Add Value button.

  19. Use the Delete Checked Values button to delete a value selected in the List Members group box.

  20. Use the Add Prompt link to add one or more prompts to the list so that users can enter the comparison values when they run the query.

  21. In this example, you want to add the predefined list values, such as HTMT and TARG.

     

    Click the Add Value button.

  23. Use the Cancel button to return to the Edit Criteria Properties page without saving selections.

  24. In this example, you want to accept the values that are listed in the List Members section.

     

    Click the OK button.

  25. The Edit Criteria Properties page reappears and the selected values are displayed in the Edit List section.
