Understanding PeopleSoft Process Scheduler Architecture

  2. When you request a process from a browser, you enter a row of data into a database table using PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture. 

    Step 2
  3. A server agent on the batch server reads this row and processes the request.


    As the process moves through the stages of completion, other tables in the database are updated, providing information for the Process Monitor and Report Manager.

  4. For processes where the output type is web, the distribution agent uses the communication protocol you choose to transfer the files to the report repository.

  5. Users view reports in the report repository using the Report/Log viewer.

In summary, end-users submit a process request in PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture, the request is processed in batch on the Process Scheduler Server. For web reports, the reports are transferred to the report repository where end-users can view the reports.
