Documenting Report Properties



  1. Begin by opening the CUSTOMER_INFORMATION report using the Open button.


    Click the Open button.

  2. Use the Open dialog box to browse and select a report from the list.

  3. Click the CUSTOMER_INFORMATION.rpt list item.

  5. Use the Design window to create professional looking reports.

  6. In this example, you will open the Document Properties dialog box using the File, Summary Info menu.


    Click the File menu.

  8. Use the Document Properties dialog box to:

    •  Add summary data to your report (to help you and other users identify the report).

    •  View the statistical information the program generates for each report.

  9. Use the Author field to enter the name of author who created the report so that other users and report developers know who created the report.

  11. In this example, enter KIM NG. as the author.


    Enter the desired information into the Author field. Enter

  12. Use the Keywords field to enter the keywords that will assist in identifying the content of the report.

  15. Use the Comments field to enter comments to enable you to track internal documentation of the report.


    Normally, you document the report for future upgrades. Because Crystal is a third party tool, the  PeopleTools upgrade process does not compare old reports to new PeopleSoft reports. Therefore, the documentation should note the changes to PeopleSoft reports.

  18. Use the Title field to enter the report title.


    This title is used as the Report Title field in the Special Fields.

    Alternatively, select File, Save on the menu bar.
