Sorting Data Within Groups



  1. The Meetings report, with the data grouped by the catalog number, is displayed. To sort the data within the groups, open the Record Sort Order dialog box.


    Click the Record Sort Expert button.

  2. Use the Record Sort Order dialog box to specify sort details. The field names are not completely visible.


    Click the horizontal scrollbar.

  3. In this example, you want to sort the data within each group by the CLASS_NBR field.


    Click the CLASS_NBR list item.

  4. Click the Add button.

  5. The CLASS_NBR field appears in the Sort Fields box.


    Click the OK button.

  6. Notice that the data is now sorted within the catalog number groups by class number.

  7. You can use the navigation buttons to quickly view different pages in the report.

You have successfully sorted data within a group in a Crystal report.
