The Related Discussion pagelet is used to associate a discussion forum with a specified menu item—for example, you can display a related discussion along with a menu item containing Human Resources information. Users can view and add topics and replies to the discussion for such subjects as medical benefits, open enrollment, and so forth. These topics appear in the Related Discussion pagelet when the user accesses the menu item.


In this example, you will navigate to a menu item (the Course Details page) that has the Related Discussion pagelet associated with it at the page level. As a member of the discussion forum, you will reply to a topic and then create a new topic. Then, as the portal administrator, you will manage the discussion forum by adding a new member and updating the forum policy.
