Changing the Locations for a Document


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to a Content Locations page in a collaborative workspace.

     

    Click the Workspaces link.

  3. Click an entry in the Name column.

  5. Click the Properties link.

  6. Click the Locations link.

  7. Use the Content Locations page to view information about the folders in which the content is published. From this page, you can move content to a new folder on the Move Content page. In addition, from this page, you can specify additional folders in which the content is available on the Add Content Locations page. Specifying an additional location does not create another copy of the content; instead, it creates a link so that only one instance of the content is present within the workspace.

     

    In this example, you will move this content to a new folder. Then, you will add an additional folder as a location in which the content is available.

  9. Use the Move Content page to move content to a new folder.

  10. Click a Folder button to traverse the folder hierarchy.

  11. Click a Folder button to continue to traverse the folder hierarchy. Click a link for a folder name to select that folder as the new location.

     

    Click the 2076 - Enterprise Portal link.

  12. Next, add an additional folder as a location in which the content is available.

  13. Use the Add Content Location page to select an additional location for the content.

  14. Click a Folder button to traverse the folder hierarchy.

  15. Click a Folder button to continue to traverse the folder hierarchy. Click a link for a folder name to select that folder as the additional location.

     

    Click the 2075 - Courses link.

  16. The document is now listed in two folders.

     

    Click the Return button.

  18. Click the Return to Documents link.

  19. The document appears in the folder to which it was moved. Note the document ID of 2018.

     

    Next, browse to the folder that was added as an additional location for this document.

     

    Click the Documents link.
