Defining Privilege Sets



  1. Begin by navigating to the Privilege Sets page.


    Click the Content Management link.

  4. Privilege sets are created and maintained for each content management feature separately.


    Click the Managed Content list item.

  7. Use the Privilege Sets page to create and maintain privilege sets, which are unique to each content management feature. Within each privilege set, there are three groupings of privileges: content privileges, folder privileges, and discussion privileges. Each privilege controls the visibility of an action button on the folder and content management pages. You typically need to set up the administrator privilege set for each feature. Some features require additional privilege sets such as author (or contributor), expert (or approver), and viewer.


    In this example, you will modify the existing author privilege set for the managed content feature.

  8. The Subscribe to Content check box enables the user to add members to the interested party list.

  9. The Add Content check box enables users to add new content to a folder and edit his or her authored versions.

  10. The Edit Content check box enables users to check out and edit content.


    Click the Edit Content option.

  11. The View Discussions check box provides read-only access to discussion forums.

  12. The Add Discussions check box enables users to add new discussion topics and responses to forums that he or she can access.

  13. The Moderate Content Discussions check box enables users to edit and remove posts in addition to adding topics and responses.


    Click the Moderate Content Discussions option.

  16. Next, you will create an extra managed content privilege set called contributor (which you will define to be essentially the same as an author).
