Assigning Topic Experts

Steps:

1. Begin by navigating to the Related Information Topic Experts page.

    

   Click the Portal Administration link.

   Step 1

2. Click the Context link.

3. Click the Define Topic Experts link.

   Step 3

4. Click the Add a New Value tab.

   Step 4

5. In this example, in the first topic expert assignment, you will look up the related content publication number.

    

   Click the Look up Related Content Pub button.

   Step 5

6. Click an entry in the Publication Title column.

   Step 6

7. In this example, in the first topic expert assignment, you will look up the menu item name. Only menu items that have been assigned the dynamic content template will appear in the search results.

    

   Click the Look up Menu Item Name button.

8. Click an entry in the Menu Item Name column.

   Step 8

9. Click the Add button.

   Step 9

10. Use the Related Information Topic Experts page to assign topic experts to each menu item and related information publication combination.

     

    In this example, you will assign one topic expert for related information for a menu item, and then you will assign a different topic expert for the related contacts for the same menu item.

11. Click the Access Type list.

12. Click the User list item.

13. Click in the User/Role Name field.

14. Enter the desired information into the User/Role Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "VP1"

15. Click the Save button.

16. Next, assign a different topic expert for the related contacts for the same menu item.

     

    Click the Related Contacts link.

17. Click the Define Topic Experts link.

18. Click the Add a New Value tab.

19. In this example, in the second topic expert assignment, you will provide the value for the related content publication number.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Related Content Publication field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "2"

20. In this example, in the second topic expert assignment, you will provide the menu item name, which is the same as in the first assignment. Only menu items that have been assigned the dynamic content template can be assigned a topic expert.

     

    Click in the Menu Item Name field.

21. Enter the desired information into the Menu Item Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "PSU_COURSE_GBL"

22. Click the Add button.

23. Use the Related Contacts Topic Experts page to assign topic experts to each menu item and related contacts publication combination.

     

    In this example, you will now assign a different topic expert for the related contacts for the same menu item.

24. Click the Access Type list.

27. Enter the desired information into the User/Role Name field. Enter

     a valid value
