Working with the Related Resources Pagelet


Concept


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Course Details page.

     

    In this example, the Course Details page is the target page that has the Related Resources pagelet associated with it.

     

    Click the Courses link.

  3. The other pagelets are found above the Menu pagelet in the menu frame.

     

    Click the vertical scrollbar.

  4. The Related Resources pagelet is used to associate Resource Finder information with a specified menu item—in this example, relating employee profiles with the Course Details page. If you are the topic expert assigned to this menu item and pagelet combination, the edit links, the Show All link, and Add button appear as above. For other users, the Show All link appears only when there are more than five resources to be displayed.

     

    In this example, you will view a resource profile already added to the pagelet. Then, as the topic expert assigned to this menu item and pagelet combination, you will add a new related resource to the pagelet.

  5. Click the Bradley, Cynthia link.

     

    The resource profile page from Resource Finder will pop up in a separate window.

  6. The resource profile page is used to maintain the profile for a Resource Finder resource.

     

    In this example, you will merely view the information on this resource profile page.

  7. Click the Close button.

  8. Click the Add button.

     

    In this example, as the topic expert assigned to this menu item and pagelet combination, you will now add a new related resource to the pagelet.

     

    The Related Resources page will pop up in a separate window.

  9. Use the Related Resources page to add or update a related resource associated with the current menu item.

     

    In this example, you will add a related resource.

  10. Click the Search button.

  11. The Advanced Search page enables you to search for and select related resources. By default, it is populated with a search of employee profiles.

  12. Click an entry in the Name column.

  13. The Display Label field is automatically populated with the name from the profile you selected. Also notice that the Publish Dt field is populated automatically with the current date. The Expiration Date field is optional.

  17. Optionally, navigate back to the Course Details page to confirm that the resource has been added.

     

    Click the Courses link.
