Maintaining My Links Folders



  1. Begin by navigating to the Edit My Links page.


    Click the My Links list.

  3. The Edit My Links page is used to maintain My Links folders and links. From this page, you can add, rename, or delete folders. You can edit existing links, including moving a link to a folder. In addition, you can add new links from this page as well as delete links.


    To start this example, you will add a new folder.

  4. Click the Add Folder button.

  5. Use the Add Folder page to name your new folder.

  6. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     "Action Items"

  7. Click the Save button.

  8. Folders can hold links to menu items, URL addresses, and queries.


    In this example, you will add a link to a menu item in this new folder.


    Click the Action Items link.

  10. The Add Link page is used to add a link to a menu item, PeopleSoft query, or URL.

  13. You cannot directly enter text in the Menu Item field. You must use the lookup button to look up a menu item.


    Click the Menu Item button.

  14. Use the Select Menu Item page to browse through the menu structure and select a menu item.

  16. Click the [My Action Items] link.

  18. Notice that the new menu item has been added to your new folder.


    To continue this example, you will edit the name of your new folder.


    Click the Action Items link.

  21. After reviewing your list of links, you decide to modify this folder name. So, you append additional text after the existing name, Action Items.


    Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     " Folder"

  23. You can also use the Edit My Links page to edit a link.


    In this example, you will move an existing link to your new folder.


    Click the [Action Items Query] link.
